Term 4, 2024 Newsletter
Thank you for a wonderful Term 4 at Southport Gymnastics Club! From special choreography classes with Coach Olga to increasing our strength and cardio training and even celebrating with our first Masters gymnast Michelle, it has been a great Term. Thank you to everyone who supported our Halloween Disco fundraiser. We are pleased to share we raised $700 and are now very close to purchasing some new cooling options for our Club, with the support of an additional grant. You may have also noticed an internal lighting upgrade, which we were fortunate to receive grant money for.
It’s been a busy Term, and we look forward to seeing you at our end of year Gala on Saturday 14 December. If you can assist with baking for our bake sale please email info@southportgymnatics.com.au. Also, if you have a secondhand leotard you’d like to sell at the gala please pop by the office to grab a tag and instructions.
We have so much to look forward to in 2025 including an exciting external facility upgrade thanks to the support of Southport Councillor Brooke Patterson. Read the message from her below. We also look forward to welcoming Cr Patterson to our Club to meet our gymnasts, staff and parents and show her our facilities on Thursday 12 December. If you’re around please say hello.
Finally, instead of an end of year social celebration, we have decided to hold a Welcome Back Celebration on Saturday 8 February. We have secured the entire Inflatable World venue for all our gymnasts to have some amazing fun together. We’ll communicate more information about this shortly, but we’re happy to report this event will be FREE to all recreational and competitive members.
A special Christmas message from Councillor Brooke Patterson
Greetings Southport Gymnastic Club members! Brooke Patterson here, your Councillor for the Southport area and your Club. Our local sporting clubs offer an invaluable service to our community, and it is only made possible through the work of volunteers.
I have been working behind the scenes with City officers to deliver important facility upgrades to the gymnastics hall. I look forward to funding these so the club doesn’t have to worry about these boring but very important things like external cladding, electrical maintenance and signage.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Our competition squads are making strides this term since the competition season came to an end. Our new groups and levels have been having fun with new skills and new challenges as they progress throughout this last term of 2024. With only one physical ability testing session remaining, we will continue to strive for improvements and finish the year strong.
We will also be hosting a Competition Squad Parent information Session at the end of Term 4. There will be a Level 1-6 Junior Parent information session at the start of 2025. These sessions will explain everything you need to know about the upcoming competition season from uniforms, entries, gymnast and parent expectations. Our staff are happy to answer any questions you may have.
We kick off with our Senior Information Session Level 7-9.
Date: Thursday 12th December 2024

In more exciting news! We are pleased to announce we are partnering with Adidas to bring our all competitive squads a new style club shirt and tracksuit. Stay tuned for more information soon on how you can order.
