Club renovations update
Wow what a massive holidays we have had. We wanted to take a quick moment to update our members on what’s been happening at the Club. Some of the things we have accomplished are:
Huge clean out of all old equipment in and around the gym and under the gym
More than 20 loads of tip runs
Donation of some usable equipment to not-for-profit gymnastics club in Emerald, rural Central Queensland.
Almost whole club painted
Doors replaced and repaired
Office walls re-plastered and painted
New desks in office
Front entrance cleared for easier access to office window for parents
Pulled up existing carpet tiles, sanded and polished the existing beautiful hardwood timber floors to bring the natural heritage of our building back to life
New bathrooms sinks
Scrubbed every wall and existing gym mat clean and disinfected
Special thank you to our volunteers Alison & Dave (Charli C’s parents), Jason (Zahli’s dad), David (Havarna’s dad), Cameron (Charlotte’s dad), Ross (Anika’s dad) and Gary (Sara’s dad).
Alison and Dave kindly hired a trailer at their own expense and spent two days doing tip runs - we can’t thank you enough.
Also, a massive shout out to committee members Sara, Skye, AJ and Jason who put their heart and soul into revamping our club on the break with countless hours spent, as well as committee members Min, Stacey and Erin who donated their time over the holidays to help as well.
Thank you to everyone who also offered to help but due to our equipment delay, haven’t been able to yet.
All of the above couldn’t have been accomplished without donations of materials, equipment and services free of charge. Special mention to Bunnings to donating our paint.
Here are some progress shots of how the Club is looking (the photos don’t do it justice). Cannot wait to have the final new equipment installed to finish it off.
